I looked at this product and thought:

-Maytag - awesome brand

-Great Rebate

-Homedepot extended warranty - great

Once it was delivered. The delivery person did not speak english, did not follow directions and THE MACHINE WAS NOT WORKING!

To top it all off, because it was delivered to my place of business they wanted to void the manufacturer's warranty and the home depot extended warranty was also voided. I had read the extended warranty disclosures and let me tell you it was HARD TO FIND. Finally the rep at the customers service center had her supervisor locate it for me, Page 3, Section 15, subsection k under what it doesn't cover (for commercial use).

-Even though Michelle and Kelly and Maria were awesome at the customer service center the machine didn't work.

FInally they redelivered the new machine 5 days later and the Washer part of it DOESN'T WORK! 2 machines in less than one week and they stopped working within 1 hour of delivery and they were giving me a hassle about fixing or replacing it.

This is a DO NOT PURCHASE, stay away from it and stay away from Maytag.

My elderly mother recently ordered this unit (sight unseen) by phone to replace her existing Maytag stacking washer/dryer. No one bothered to tell her, when she ordered, that Maytag has changed the design of their top loading, stacking unit, and that the controls on this unit are at the TOP, nearly 6 feet off the ground. I am 5'6 inches tall and have to stretch a bit to reach them, plus they are relatively stiff knobs, not a touchpad which might, conceivably, have been usable with the help of some extendable device like a telescoping pole. She can't reach them at all and at 91 years old, is contemplating buying a STEP STOOL to allow her to use the unit so she won't have to depend on having someone (tall!) being present every time she wants to do some wash. While the machine may work fine (she claims it does), it is an astoundingly, mind-bogglingly stupid design decision to mount the controls out of reach -- literally -- of a large segment of the population. For that reason alone, no one under 6 feet in height should consider purchasing this unit. Talk about limiting your target market!
