This is a great machine. We bought it because we do not have much space on our Condo.
It fits in a very small closet, you do not need a vent!
My wife loves it… I read a lot about this machines before buying one.. AND I will tell you: STOP SEARCHING, BUY THIS ONE. Can’t go wrong with this LG.
This machine is great. I’ve had it for 2 weeks and have no regrets purchasing it (so far). I’ve had to get used to the longer run times – but I put it on “less dry”, take everything out, add a few shakes to the clothing, hang up (or put on a drying rack) and air dry. It takes me about 2.5 hours from start to finish for the machine to run. I usually can get 2 loads done (about every 2 days).
I bought from CompactAppliance.com as a refurbished/open box item for $1100. I did have to buy extra hoses for water intake and drainage (with all the connectors) – about $60 from Home Depot. I wanted my W/D in the corner of my kitchen (11 feet away from the sink) and I don’t have the extra space to move it around. I just make sure I drain all the water out of the hoses after using and wind everything back up neatly and put in a basket next to the washer. It takes me less than a minute to hook the hoses up to the kitchen sink and about 2 minutes to drain and put away.
Thank you to all the opinions on this site – it made all the research and decision to purchase this particular W/D easy. I’ve even have my sister-in-law purchasing one for her apartment.
This machine is good. Small and quiet. It does leave a burnt scent on clothes after the dry cycle, but I’m trying to figure out how to fix that. Also a lot of folks have complained about the not drying very well part. A few years ago we had a Bosch unit that had the same problem. What they said was that it is condensation on the clothes and it will go dry once you take them out and the condensation on the clothes clear. I found that to be true on both machines. So no issues on the drying. Also the time isn’t all that bad. There is a cycle after drying that keeps the clothes tumbling, so that them don’t wrinkle as bad. That seems to run for while. Over all for a single person with limited space it works great.
ive used this machine everyday since getting in 2 wks ago and i love it! i had very low expectations, i thought how good could this thing be hooked up to a sink and all? but it shocked me, its amazing! i thought the connect/disconnect would be difficult and time consuming with the sink, but its not. the capacity isnt huge, and it takes some time to dry, but what do you expect?! its a compact machine that doesnt vent! i love it, have no regrets and would totally recommend to everyone! love also that you can just use to steam clothes. LOVE LOVE! ps user guide for sink hook up sucks, call lg for better instructions
I usually do 2 loads of laundry a day. I put one in before I go to work and then another in the evening. Never have to worry I wont remember to put the clothes in the dryer. Cotton clothes dont shrink like your typical machine.
The machine is VERY HEAVY (200lbs) – get an installer who will place it in its final location! The machine is very quiet and energy efficient. Be prepared for there to be no visible water seen through the wash window – this was odd at first, yet the clothes do get clean and are soaked while washing. It works best in an open room where the humidity in the room can dissipate. The clothes do not get fully dry even on a very dry setting though they dry out quickly if you spread them out on a bed or hang them up. This seems to be the only drawback to a ventless dryer. The cycles for drying take a very long time (3-4 hours) and the loads are about 60% the size of a regular vented washer. Even with those drawbacks, the convenience of putting laundry in and knowing you can leave the house and it will be done when you return, without someone needing to switch it to a dryer, is a big plus. The machine does well with baby clothes, but you need to get a zippered mesh bag for the baby socks or they fall into the door and get stuck there and to not wash or dry. We use it with twin infants due to constraints in our condo building, but it is a machine much better suited to single people or couples with no or only one child due to the long wash/dry cycle times.

I’ve been doing home laundry for 40 years and have gone through many washers and dryers. This is, hands down, the best washer I’ve ever had – cleans the cleanest, spins the driest, runs the most quietly over any top loader I’ve ever used. I’m in an apartment now and thought I had to compromise by buying this machine but it is so much more than I expected.
I’m a massage therapist and as a result have a constant flow of oil stained sheets to wash, sheets that eventually develop rancid oil smells that just get worse over time. This machine not only prevents that, it has removed the old odors and stains leaving everything clean and sweet.
The drying cycle does take a little getting used to – stuff it too full and you’re not going to be happy. Learn its parameters and it’s terrific. It is somewhat more wrinkle producing than normal driers, I think it’s that 2 minute wait to open the door since I’m always right there to remove and prevent wrinkles but can’t until the door will open. If I could suggest to the company to change one thing, the 2 minute wait would be it.
Relative to the top loaders I’ve used, the thing is whisper quiet but it’s not silent – neither is my refrigerator and that is just normal life with machines. It weighs in at 147 pounds and moves easily if you install the wheels that come in the portability kit that I bought when I bought the washer.
The wash cycle takes more time than my previous washers, but it also gets things so much cleaner that I can’t mind that at all. If I factor in the length of time it took me to remember to run to the laundry and take it out of the washer and put it into the dryer, in the end the timing is very similar but I don’t have to be interrupted to take care of it.
This is a case of true love which I didn’t expect at all. As I said I thought I’d be compromising with a compact all-in-one but this is the best I’ve ever had.
